On Twitter today, I was moved by a quote I received by a new friend. This is NOT original to me.
We are to not only write what we know, but we are to write who I am.
It's a rather deep thought.
In writing, we not only come to terms with our life experiences, but we grow as individuals and can celebrate who we are. There is no one else on earth with our experiences, with our outlook, or with our personality. Therefore, this is what makes our writing special. We write who we are and about what formed us to be who we are.
